Carey Price will get his ninth straight start in goal for the Montreal Canadiens as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 699th time in the history of the two clubs.
It’s pretty clear that the 22-year-old is the true number one goalie in Montreal…hmmmm
The Canadiens never take a game against their rivals lightly, even with the Leafs meager 1-9-1 record when coming off a loss this season. Toronto lost 3-0 to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night.
Earlier on Tuesday, Carey Price was named the team’s November segment winner for the Molson Cup.
Price had a 5-4-2 record in 11 games in November, with a 2.48 goals against average and a .915 save percentage.
He also took the October segment despite a mediocre start to the season.
The Canadiens received some more positive news from the team clinic as well. Scott Gomez and Matt D’Agostini will be back in the lineup Tuesday.
Andrei Kostitsyn and Hall Gill, both out with foot injuries, did skate Tuesday, but will not see game action until possibly the weekend.
For those of you keeping score, HabsEyesOnThePrize tabulated the numbers and has the Canadiens holding the edge with a 331-274-88-5 overall record. They have outscored Toronto by 200 goals, 2143 to 1943.
We don’t need to count Stanley Cups now, do we?
