A Happy 79th birthday to one of the Canadiens greatest left wingers of all time.

Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974, Dickie Moore won two Art Ross Trophies (1958, 1959), setting a then league points record (96) in the 1958-59 season.

What makes his 1957-58 season more incredible was that he played with a broken wrist for three months of the season.

Moore played on six Stanley Cup winning teams with the Canadiens, and was ranked 31st in The Hockey News 100 Greatest Hockey Players.

His No. 12 was retired by the Canadiens, along with Yvan Cournoyer, on November 12, 2005.

Did you know?: Ever see those “Dickie Moore” portable offices on construction sites?

Yes it’s the same Dickie Moore, who starred on the Forum ice, that started a rental company in 1961. His company rents equipment nation wide and got it’s start in the back lot of a Dairy Queen franchise he owned in Lachine.
