A few Habs Web bits, and another dirty hit from the OHL

Ok first some advice: When donating blood late afternoon, don’t drink half a bottle of wine with dinner, especially if you’ve been up since five a.m.! They tell you to drink lots of fluids, but they never mention to avoid alcohol you know.

That said, I’ll avoid my Belarusian targets for today and pass on what else is out there. Les freres Kostitsyn did show up for the Canadiens optional skate on Monday though. Do you tink it helps their chances to play Tuesday night? Nah!

Comparing Halak to former Habs playoff performances:  Chris Boyle gives an excellent comparison of the playoff performance of Jaroslav Halak to those of Ken Dryden, Patrick Roy and Jose Theodore. Chris always offers great analytical analysis at EOTP and this one is another great one.

Speaking of St. Patrick: Patrick Roy appeared on TSN’s OTR and talked about the Canadiens current goaltending situation.

Here’s the full video clip, more one-on-one, Patrick and son Jonathan, and Roy taking “Next Question.”

Dennis Kane takes a look at the acquisition of Dominic Moore and has a little contest via Hockey Canada.

The Penguins Matt Cooke on P.K. Subban: Does he think talk like this will help his team?

Only an MP from the west coast would say this:

This is right up there with the Toronto mayoral candidate who wants to arm by-law officers and ban selling spray paint to minors. If this “twit” had his way, the Canadian Flag would have a green maple leaf with blue borders.

There was a reply online and across the House of Commons floor though.

Habs World looks the the Canadiens “Week of the Year” and offers their latest Power Rankings. What is great about  the HW team, is their consistent coverage of the Hamilton Bulldogs. The “dogs often get over sighted on most Habs sites. Great work, guys!

The Next Habs retired jersey: No it’s not a player. The Montreal Canadiens are cracking down on the counterfeit jersey market and want the fans help.

Birthday Greetings: To former Canadiens defenceman, and Hall of Famer Rod Langway who turns 53. Another Canadiens Hall of Fame rearguard, Joe Hall, was born on this day in 1882. It’s also my kid brother’s birthday, he’s still learning to skate.

Things getting wild in the OHL Final

With Game Three out of reach for the Barrie Colts on Sunday, Darren Archibald runs Windsor Spitfires goalie Philipp Grubauer.

Props to the Spitfires Craig Duinnick for stepping in for his goaltender. Fortunatley Grubauer appears to be ok, but did sit out the remaining seconds of the game.

Archibald has been suspended indefinitely by the OHL, as has teammate Zac Rinaldo for slashing a referee. The Spitfires’ Adam Wallace was also suspended for inappropriate interaction with another player in the same game.

The OHL final has also seen Barrie fans throw mac & cheese noisemakers onto the ice, and at the Spitfires players in Game One.

Meanwhile in Windsor, some Spitfires fans allegedly threatened, sexually taunted and hurled towels at the Colts dance team during Sunday’s Game.

Kev, I know that as a Spits fan, I might be a bit biased but I was at the game and those girls weren't sitting there twittling their thumbs. There was lots of verbal talk between the ice girls and the Spits fans in the area. I'm sure several Spits fans did actually do those things 'cause I swear some people in this town are absolutely stupid, especially when drunk. Trust me when I say, it was much worse at the ol' Windsor Arena.
